UK Airport Travel Update

Following the increased security levels at all UK airports the situation continues to improve and is evolving on a daily basis. . Security has been relaxed slightly and one item of hand baggage (with the exception of all flights to the USA) may now be taken on board flights departing from UK airports. This is restricted to a bag of not more than 45 cm (17.7")long, 35 cm (13.7")wide and 16 cm (6.2")deep (including all pockets, handles and wheels). However, this relaxation my be applied at different times by different airports and it is recommended that you should check with your departure airport before setting out as to what their current requirements and flight delay status is. For further information please visit the Department of Transport www.dft.gov.uk, the Foreign Office www.fco.gov.uk or Home Office www.homeoffice.gov.ukHowever, security measures remain very stringent for passengers travelling to the USA. Severe restrictions still apply in relation to what may be carried on board the aircraft: Passengers may take through the airport security search point, in a single (ideally transparent) plastic carrier bag, only the following items.
